On Wednesday, January 21, we went to the doctor for the 39 week appointment, and Dr. Scarbrough said that I was "favorable" to be induced--Type A me (and Kyle) wanted to not waste a single second of my maternity leave waiting for me to go in labor. He asked, "What are y'all doing this Friday?" My response was, "Uhh.." Thankfully, Kyle was with it, and said, "I'm in a wedding this weekend." So, it was decided that we would set up induction for Monday, January 26! We were so pumped, and were able to tell my family to pack their bags. (Side note: Gwen had her clothes ironed and set aside two weeks in advance) I remember praying that if this was not what the Lord wanted, then would He send me in labor earlier than Monday at the crack of dawn.
Polly is ready for the hospital, too.
Thursday, January 22, 2015--By this point, I had turned over my classroom to my long term sub, Mrs. Royal, who had been observing and assisting for the previous week and a half (thank you, Lord, for this detail, which eased my mind so!). Sometime around noon, while slowly moving up the hall, it hit me--I really don't want to come to work tomorrow. I mentioned this to my assistant principal, who thought it was a great idea. Then, at home that night, my best RH friends (Jillian, Tasia, Molly, and Colleen) came over to keep me company since Kyle had a dinner meeting. We had out last "Girls Night Before Phyllis" and totally pigged out on pancakes, bacon, fruit, juice, and lots of syrup. A total night of gluten and glutton. Exactly what I needed and wanted. During that time, my assistant principal texted me asking if I'd taken Friday off because she was going to make me. I had already!
Friday, January 23, 2015--I was beat and stayed in bed until 1 PM. Remember that wedding? Well, I prayed whether or not I was to attend the rehearsal dinner because I just didn't feel like it. He gave me the strength though and I made it to the dinner. There might or might not have been some Zaxby's chocolate chip cookies and a Dr. Pepper as an appetizer involved. At the rehearsal dinner, we had a nice time, and I enjoyed socializing.

Saturday, January 24, 2015-- Polly was sent on vacation to stay with Kyle's parents then I dropped Kyle off with the groom, Clint Dorman, around 2 PM, then met up with the one and only Tasia Tremble (my appointed babysitter for the day) for some Target shopping and pizza and breadsticks and Coke (Sorry, baby girl). After totally pigging out, I went off to the wedding, which was gorgeous! At the wedding though all I could think was how thirsty I was--After the ceremony, I drank handfuls of water straight from the bathroom faucet because I didn't think being 39.5 weeks preggo was going to get me out of trouble for drinking the Holy Water. The reception was wonderful from what I could tell--I sat on a stool the whole time. I was done. They had the best looking food, but all I had was fruit and cheese because that was the closet station. Oh, and a lot of water. And wedding cake! We got home about 11:30 PM, I took a hot bath, and then iced Mee Maw's birthday oatmeal cookie cake--Sunday, January 25 was her birthday, and she and Moma would be arriving around noon that day! In bed I went at 12:30 AM.
At the wedding reception--last picture of just us! Swollen in the face especially compared to 24 hours prior.
